Typing challenges

Set yourself a fair typing challenge

Give a timed test a simple goal: match your usual accuracy at a steadier pace. Typido currently offers individual tests and games, not live multiplayer race rooms.

Race your own baseline

Take a relaxed one-minute test and record its speed and accuracy. On your next attempt, try to improve one measure while keeping the other steady. A rushed attempt with many corrections can feel fast while producing less usable text.

Use the same duration and text settings. Different passages naturally vary in difficulty, so look for a pattern across attempts rather than treating a small change as proof of improvement.

  1. Warm up once without keeping score.
  2. Record one baseline test with WPM and accuracy.
  3. Choose one aim: steadier rhythm, fewer errors, or a modest increase in pace.
  4. Complete a second test, review it, and stop or change activities before repetition becomes rushed.

Try a friendly offline challenge

Friends or classmates can use their own devices and compare results voluntarily. Agree on the duration, settings and whether corrections are allowed before starting. Compare accuracy as well as speed, and give participants room to practice privately.

This is a suggested activity you organize yourself. Typido does not currently create a shared live room, synchronize race starts, match opponents or verify competition results.

Choose play when a timer feels repetitive

Typing games offer different goals, such as following a path or entering target words. Pick a game for variety, then return to a standard test when you want a more consistent measure of progress.

Keep challenges short and optional. A useful result is one that helps you choose what to practice next; it does not need to beat another person. Your first public typing test works without an account.
