Check the activity on school devices first

Try the public test on the browser, keyboard and network your students will use. A physical keyboard suits touch-typing lessons; a phone keyboard produces a different experience and should not be treated as an equivalent assessment.

Check that the text is readable, students can reach the controls, and school network restrictions allow the page to load. Test the activity before assigning it to a class.

Begin with a small pilot

Choose one class or a short optional activity. Keep the goal narrow: finding keys confidently, copying a sentence accurately, or maintaining a comfortable rhythm. Students start at different levels, so do not use a single speed target for everyone.

1. Introduce the keyboard and demonstrate a slow, accurate attempt.
2. Let students take a guest test without creating an account.
3. Ask each student to choose one pattern to practice.
4. Repeat a comparable activity later and discuss individual progress.

Understand accounts and school features

The guest typing test shows results without registration. Personal accounts can save individual progress. School administrators should review the privacy information and their own procedures before asking students to register or share results.

Typido does not currently provide a school administration console, class rostering, assignment management or teacher reporting dashboard. Keep the session useful for writing

Typing practice should support schoolwork. Follow a keyboard exercise with a short piece of ordinary writing so students can use the skill in context. Evaluate comfort, independence and accuracy alongside speed. The teacher guide gives a sample lesson and a lightweight way to record observations.
